Auntie Wendy’s is a family owned and operated Kettle Corn stand that has been serving up bags of love since 2009. Our product is made on-site using only quality ingredients for a quality product. Minimal hulls, big fluffy kernels and just the right amount of sweet and salty make this snack a popular choice among visitors to the Mankato Farmer’s Market. Find us under the blue and yellow tent!
From plants and flowers………..to buns and bread. This year we are sporting a new name, Market Bakery.
Our business started as Earthworks Gardens in 2009 at the Farmers Market. Gradually, we worked into more baking and less plants – now only selling plants wholesale.
Market Bakery offers the freshest in baked goods, yes – the elves work through the night. Our line of bakery goods includes Artisan breads, Danish pastries, scones, muffins, cookies, turnovers, pinwheels, croissants, buns, and our famous cinnamon rolls. Our rolls are huge, and almost big enough to share – but we don’t recommend it. Our most popular items are our Ciabatta bread, dill pickle buns and cinnamon rolls. All of our products are prepared and baked in my home, yes – I have a large kitchen. In the fall and winter, I also teach ‘Baking Classes’ at my home.
I spent nearly 5 years as a bakery foreman supervising a crew of 8. This ‘scratch’ bakery, served 800 people three times a day. That is a lot of bread, buns and sweets. Did I mention it was a bakery at a Federal Prison and the crew was inmates? Interesting experience.
Stop by and see us at the market!
We are a Family farm located about 8 miles south of Mankato. We got started at the Farmer’s Market with Grandpa and the grandkids and we are continuing that tradition with our family. This will be our 37th year at the market. We grow vegetables & berries, have some cut flowers and baked items. It is always so good to see each and everyone of our customers and have developed many friendships through our business.
Many years ago my Grandmother baked for our family and our hired help on our family farm. I inherited her love of baking and started “The Pie Peddler” at the Mankato Farmer’s Market 8 years ago. Our business has grown over the years. We started small with 1 canopy tent and two tables, and now have 2 canopy tents, 5 tables and 3 products. We specialize in pies; half & half’s, swirls, 4 floors, small pies, and little buddies. All our pies are always baked fresh the night before the market so they are the freshest you can find. We also have Whoopie Pies (2 chocolate cake halves with a powdered sugar and marshmallow cream center), and home made salted nut rolls in 5 different flavors. We look forward to baking and creating what our customers love, fresh baked pies and sweet treats for the family.
